Two Canucks in Top Ten at US Open; Taylor Top Amateur

Mike Weir and Stephen Ames shared tenth place at the US Open completed today at Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York. The event was won today by Lucas Glover by two strokes over Phil Mickelson, David Duval and third and second round leader Ricky Barnes.

Top amateur for the event was Abbotsford, B.C.'s Nick Taylor who finished with a share of 38th place.

Gary Cowan was named Canadian male amateur of the century in 2000 by the Royal Canadian Golf Association. His record includes one Canadian Amateur Championship, two U.S. Amateur Championships, low amateur at the Canadian Open and the Master Tournament, and medallist at the World Amateur Team Championship.
