Two Canucks in Top Ten at US Open; Taylor Top Amateur

Mike Weir and Stephen Ames shared tenth place at the US Open completed today at Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York. The event was won today by Lucas Glover by two strokes over Phil Mickelson, David Duval and third and second round leader Ricky Barnes.

Top amateur for the event was Abbotsford, B.C.'s Nick Taylor who finished with a share of 38th place.

Keith Alexander, the 1960 Canadian Amateur Champion and six-time Alberta Amateur Champion, was a member of the Alberta Legislative Assembly from 1979 until November 1985, when he resigned to allow Premier Don Getty to have a seat in the Legislature. Alexander is a member of the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame.
