CN has decided to exercise their two-year option and continue as title sponsor of the CN Canadian Women’s Open, CN Canadian Women’s Tour and CN Future Links through 2010. "CN is delighted to announce that the company will continue its title sponsorship role for these important Canadian golf properties through 2010," said E. Hunter Harrison, President and Chief Executive Officer of CN. "We at CN are very proud to be associated with the only LPGA tour stop in Canada - the CN Canadian Women's Open. ...we along with the RCGA will work hard to return this Championship to the status it once held. As well, CN is committed to ensuring that the future of the game in Canada continues to grow. This through our on-going support of the developmental CN Canadian Women's Tour and the CN Future Links program that helps junior golfers at the grass roots level learn to play and develop a passion for the game at an early age. We also see the tremendous value and benefits these events bring to the local communities across Canada. Perhaps most importantly through the CN Miracle Match program we will continue to leave a lasting legacy that will benefit children's hospitals for years to come." The partnership between CN and the RCGA began last year in 2006. The CN Canadian Women’s Open is Canada’s only LPGA Tour event has had its’ purse increased twice since CN took over as title sponsor. At $2.25 million (U.S.) The CN Canadian Women’s Open now ranks among the Top-5 purses on the LPGA Tour - exceeding three out of the four Majors. |
